Conor Walsh racing the Dublin City Half Marathon

Client story

Conor Walsh

I’ve been working with Enda for over a year now, completing the Dublin City half and full marathons, and multiple shorter distance races. His training pushed me to hit every single target and PB along the way. When I suffered with an injury, Enda’s skills as a physiotherapist were a gamechanger. He guided me back to full fitness in just a matter of weeks, keeping me right on track for my goals.

I couldn’t recommend him enough to anyone looking to improve their running.

Before working with Enda I was injury prone, inconsistent and struggling with my running. I first sought his help as a physio for an injury, but when I asked him to coach me, everything changed. With his rehab programme and structured return to run plan, I built my confidence and consistency. Before I knew it I had completed two half marathons and a full marathon, which I never thought was possible.

I’m still happily being coached by Enda today, and couldn’t recommend him highly enough as a physio or a running coach.

Client story

Paul Healy

I’ve been working with Enda for the past year and I honestly can’t believe how much I’ve improved as a runner in this short period of time.

I first came to Enda having suffered a string of bone stress injuries in the previous couple of years, and he was quickly able to identify the causes of my issues, and how we could work on them. We have implemented techniques to improve my running stride, devised a proper S&C plan and also worked through a tailored running plan.

Subsequent to this I have received 1:1 coaching from Enda for my marathon block. I was amazed with the improvements I made over the few months, and I know I wouldn’t have done anywhere near the time I did in the marathon without Enda’s guidance. Looking forward to continuing the coaching and building towards my next marathon block — thank you coach!

  • ✅ Returned from hip injury to marathon racing

I first went to Enda with a hip injury during my Dublin Marathon training. Enda quickly diagnosed the problem and, thanks to his effective rehab plan, I managed to take part in the marathon.

I was keen to improve and have a structured training plan, so I decided to stay with Enda as my running coach. My paces have improved massively. In April 2025, to my surprise, I won the Ladies Connemarathon, having never placed in a race before! I also achieved a new PB in the Dublin Half Marathon.

Enda is amazing. He creates brilliant individualised training plans, ensures I stay consistent with my strength work, and is always available to answer any questions. I am really enjoying my training and the progress I have made. Thanks, Enda!

Client story

Liam Kirkby

I came to Enda as an injury prone runner, competing in Triathlon and Duathlon, but held back by recurring injuries. Enda built me a 6 month run plan, including strength training.

My starting point was recovering from shin splints and my finishing point was a top 5 finish at the European Championship Age Group Sprint Duathlon and a 5k PB — so it’s safe to say I am pleased with the results!

Knowing Enda is a fully qualified physio, with an understanding of my previous injuries gave me peace of mind I could push myself in the prescribed training sessions without worrying I would be pushing my body over the edge.

I finished my run plan injury free, and Enda’s race tactics, pacing and shoe selection advice was also a huge bonus!

Enda Kilgallon, Registered Physiotherapist and running coach

Enda Kilgallon

Registered Physiotherapist & Running Coach

I am a running coach and physiotherapist, specialising in running injuries and improving performance.

I completed a higher certificate in Physiology and Health Science at Carlow IT, and a BSc Physiotherapy degree at Northumbria University in Newcastle Upon Tyne. I have worked as an MSK physiotherapist for the past 13 years. Over this time I have specialised in treating running-related injuries, running gait analysis and coaching.

I am a certified Endurance Running coach via Athletics Ireland. I have been directly coaching athletes since 2024, helping many runners to PBs at all levels from 5k to the marathon, including World Marathon majors and even coaching an athlete to a marathon win.

I have been a runner myself for 15 years, completing multiple half and full marathons, an ultramarathon, and more recently half and full distance Ironman races. My current PBs are: 10k 33:31, Half 1:12:56, Full 2:41:53.

When I’m not working or training, I can usually be found watching running shoe review videos!

Coaching Philosophy

I have seen first hand the devastation that injury can cause for runners through my work as a physiotherapist. For that reason, my starting point when coaching an athlete will always be to keep them healthy and training consistently. Once we have achieved a good base level of fitness and tolerance to running, then we can progressively add load and intensity. For some more experienced runners, this will already have been achieved. This is why individualised coaching is so important for runners who are seeking performance improvements — your training plan needs to be appropriate for you and only you!

I want my athletes to be runners for life, so I will always focus on the longer term, rather than pushing too hard too soon for short term goals. I have seen athletes come to me either from a persistently injured or inappropriately trained background, and make huge gains in fitness and performance over a short space of time using this approach. Most importantly, they are still fit, healthy and increasing their training load and while achieving better results race by race.
